Not every orthodontic consultation is backed by the same depth of training. Dr. G completed orthodontic specialty training twice — first at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, where she graduated with honors, and again at Jacksonville University in Florida, where her U.S. residency included intensive clinical, academic, and research training and culminated in both an Orthodontics Specialty Certificate and a Master of Science in Dentistry. Between those two specialty programs, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Miami, where she served as chief resident — deepening her understanding of how orthodontic treatment fits into comprehensive dental health. Today, Dr. G is an ABO board-certified orthodontist with more than a decade of orthodontic experience. So while your visit may begin as “just a consultation,” the evaluation you receive reflects an unusually extensive education — one that allows Dr. G to work backward from your goals and explain, in detail, why you may or may not need orthodontic treatment and what the root cause behind that recommendation is. Patients tell us it's a depth of understanding unlike any consultation they've experienced: we take the time to build your treatment plan from a complete diagnosis, not hand you a templated plan built on a partial picture. Every orthodontic program exposes a doctor to different instructors, treatment philosophies, clinical methods, and patient populations. Dr. G's education spans two countries, two orthodontic specialty programs, a U.S. general dentistry residency, and a master's degree involving advanced clinical and research training. That breadth gives her a particularly well-rounded perspective on straightforward cases and complicated bite and alignment concerns alike — and it's why she's especially drawn to challenging cases, where thoughtful orthodontic treatment makes the biggest difference to a patient's health, function, and confidence.

Dr. G is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) — a voluntary credential widely regarded as the highest achievement in the orthodontic specialty. It goes beyond dental school, orthodontic residency, and licensure: it requires passing externally validated written and clinical examinations, and it represents an ongoing commitment to professional development and the standards of the specialty. Only a portion of practicing U.S. orthodontists choose to complete it. For patients like you, it means your orthodontist has voluntarily had her knowledge and clinical ability examined against the standards of her own specialty — and met them.

Yes. The consultation is complimentary, but the expertise behind it is not basic. Dr. G personally reviews your dental history, listens to your concerns and goals, conducts a detailed orthodontic examination, and studies the records — 3D scan, X-rays, and photos — needed to understand your smile and bite. She then explains what she sees, walks through the treatment options appropriate for you, and answers your questions so you can make a confident, informed decision. There is no pressure to begin treatment. The purpose is clarity — and direct access to the perspective of a board-certified orthodontist who completed specialty training twice and has spent more than a decade practicing orthodontics.
